Capacity Building

 

The department is committed to the advancement of knowledge and learning in the field of economics. The department also envisions achieving high standards of academic performance to provide quality education to students and to deal with economic, social and business realities. The department organizes various seminars, workshops , guest lectures and field trips for the enhancement of knowledge and for broadening the spectrum of understanding and application of the subject

Workshops
  • Two Day International Symposium on Leadership and Wisdom-Among leaders and learners by Dr. Larry Linamen- Vice President for global initiatives-CBU, USA and Dr. John Shoup, CBU, USA held on 13-14 September,2022 with 16 staff and 110 student participation
  • One Day National Webinar on Coronavirus- is it precedented? - by Prof..K.S.S Seshan, Professor(Retired), department of History, Central University, Hyderabad, was held on 26 May 2020, with 10 faculty and 250 student participation.
  • Three Day International Webinar on The Indian Diaspora in USA by Prof.Aparna Rayaprol/Mr. Sunil Roberts/Prof. Anantha Bobbili/Prof. Mathew George/Ricky Kej/Prof. Amarjit held from 26 -28 Nov 2020, with 8 faculty and 135 student participation .
  • One Day seminar on Relevance of Social Sciences in Age of Technology by Prof Vinod Pavarala, Professor and HoD, Department of Mass communication, University of Hderabad / Dr Sunny Philips , Executive Director, Transform4 lives/ Dr. Aniket Alam, Assoc. Prof. IIIT, Hyderabad held on 25th November 2019, attended by 10 faculty and 110 student participants.
  • Three-day State level Workshop was conducted on Telangana in Perspective: an Interdisciplinary Discourse by 9th – 11th February 2017.
Seminars
  • Seminar on Insights of Union budget , Department of Economics, Mount Carmel College ,Bangalore on 30th January, 2022 with 2 faculty and 20 students
Guest Lectures
  • Lecture on Exchange Control - objectives and measures by Professor Tamma Koti Reddy, Head of Department of Economics, ICFAI Business School on February 1, 2023, with 23 faculty and 100 student participation
  • Lecture on Importance of reading newspaper by Mr. Dominic from Economic Times on 6th January 2022 with 2 faculty and 80 students participating
  • Lecture was organized on Digital Banking and its Importance by Ms. Vijayalakshmi Muddu, Deputy General Manager and Senior Faculty at the State Bank Institute for Consumer Banking, on 9th September, 2019 attended by all Economics Students of B.A
  • Lecture on Foreign Exchange Rate by Dr. Aruna,, Professor , Department of Economics , ICFAI University was conducted for all the second and third-year Economics students on September 28th 2018.
  • Lecture on Exhaustible and non-exhaustible resources by Dr. A. Nakula Reddy ,Professor, department of Economics Osmania University was conducted for all the 2nd year BA Economics students.
  • Lecture on future of the world economy by Dr. Steven, Asst Professor, Department of Economics. IIIT Hyderabad on 30th January 2018 attended by 2 faculty and 120 students
  • Lecture on Inflation and its impact on Indian Economy and relevance to Economics in the present day by Prof. Jojo Mathew George, CFAI Business School, Hyderabad, and also the Center for Entrepreneurship Development of the IFHE (Deemed) University on 20th September 2017 with 2 faculty and 140 student participation
Field Trips
  • Final year students of BA were taken to Tellapur Gram panchayat on 10th January, 2018 with 2 faculty and 100 students
  • The students were taken on Educational Tour to Chhattisgarh and Vishakhapatnam from 7th March to 12th March ,2016 with 2 faculty and 60 students
Capacity Building for Non Teaching
  • A capacity building for the non-teaching staff on 30th September 2021, on Basic Operations in Banking with 20 participants
