BCom Integrated Professional Program (IPP)

There is an increasing demand for commerce courses among students, especially for a professional programme which fulfills the requirements of students planning to take up professional courses such as C.A., I.C.W.A. and C.S. In this context, the college introduced a new undergraduate programme, B.Com. IPP, with the objective of providing quality college education to students pursuing professional courses in commerce.

Objectives

The objectives of the course are as follows

  • To integrate college education on the lines of professional education
  • To offer a broad-based course in commerce, which will prepare students for professional courses
  • To provide a flexible academic curriculum which provides for exemption and credit transfer on clearing various subjects in professional examinations
  • To arrange academic support for students pursuing professional courses by way of additional coaching in collaboration with professional bodies

 

Program Outcomes (POs)

Upon completion of the B. Com Degree Programme, the graduate will be able

  • PO1. To receive a thorough knowledge of the fundamentals and a quality education in all the core subjects essential for an undergraduate degree in Commerce.
  • PO2. To build entrepreneurial skills required for innovation and creation of ideas.
  • PO3. To develop effective communication skills and contemporary IT knowledge essential for joining the workforce or for further higher education.
  • PO4. To be trained in the development of ethical, moral & human values in order to contribute to the well being of the society
  • PO5. To acquire skills for the development of sustainable goals aligned to global, national & social issues.
  • PO6. To develop leadership skills and the ability to work with groups for a common cause.
  • PO7. To acquire the ability for critical thinking through the development of cognitive and decision making skills and an attitude of positive and lifelong learning in order to succeed in a dynamic environment.

 

Program Specific Outcomes (PSOs)

At the end of the program, the students of B. Com (IPP) will

  • PSO1. Be provided a comprehensive understanding of subjects which form the core curriculum in professional courses such as Charted Accountancy, Cost and Management Accounting, Company Secretaryship.
  • PSO2. Learn to record, analyze, interpret, and report financial and non financial transactions and information using professional accounting standards and laws in order to aid decision-makers within an organization.
  • PSO3. Recognize accounting, economic, marketing and business opportunities/challenges and develop strategies to address them by applying critical thinking skills using technology and formulating viable solutions to organizational issues ethically..
  • PSO4. Get real time work exposure through articleship opportunities provided by companies when they emerge successful in the executive/intermediate level of professional courses.
  • PSO5. Develop innovative and creative thinking skills, problem solving and decision-making techniques that will help them in their work environment.
