Staff Achievements

• Dr. Kanchana successfully completed the SFC -Minor Research project titled: Isolation of Bioactive compounds and Invitro antiepileptic activity of Indigofera tirunelvelica sanjappa. sanctioned on 10/10/2021 for duration of 2yrs.
  Date of completion: 30/11/2023.
  
• Dr. Sony successfully completed SFC -Minor Research project titled: “Evaluation of Phytochemical composition, pharmacogenetic profile, bioactive potential and anti-hyper glycaemic property of Vernonia anthelmentica (L.)Willd. Whole Plant”. Project sanctioned on 10/10/2021 for duration of 2yrs.
  Date of completion: 30/11/2023.
  
• Ms. Malathi Varma successfully completed GITAM MRP grant project titled: “Exploring diagnostic biomarkers in Iron Refractory Iron Deficiency Anaemia”. Project sanctioned on 03/01/2022 for duration of 1yr.
  Date of completion: 01/01/2023.
  

• Ms. Malathi Varma won Best Library usage on International Library Day 11th August 2023. 2. Dr.Kanchana has won Best User Award conducted by SHASTR CLUB for the academic year 2022-23.
• Dr.Kathiravan has won first prize in library competitions conducted by SHASTR CLUB for the academic year 2022-23.
• Dr.Kanchana, Ms.Malathi Varma, Dr.G.Sony were given cash award at Teachers Day celebrations by SFC Management for publishing research papers.
• Dr.Kanchana was awarded the “Young Innovative Teacher Award “conferred by the Management of SFC on Teachers’ Day 06/09/21.
• Dr.Kanchana was awarded Gold Medal instituted by Dr.G.Swaroopa Rani Former Head, Dept of Commerce for Maximum Research Contribution by faculty on Feb 1st 2022- SFC College Day.

• Sr.Sandra Horta was awarded Doctoral degree in Biochemistry in the year 2021 from Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli.
• Dr.S.Kanchana was awarded Ph.D degree in Biochemistry in the year 2021 from Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli.
• Dr.G.Sony was awarded Ph.D degree from the Biochemistry department of Sri Padmavati Women’s University, Tirupati in the year 2021.
• Ms. Shaikh Nida Ahmed qualified TSSET in April, 2023.

• Dr. Kanchana was invited as the guest speaker for orienting the staff on OBE & CO PO Mapping to Sarojini Naidu Vanitha Mahavidhyalaya on 27/06/23.
• Dr Kanchana and Dr.G Sony were the resource persons for the workshop on Statistical tools in life sciences and scientific paper writing under DBT Star college for the students of St Ann’s College for Women on 9th January,2024.
• Dr.Kanchana was the resource person for the St. Francis FIP on Outcome based Education for the newly recruited staff on June 27th 2022.There were 40 participants. 4. Dr.Kanchana was the resource person for the capacity building program for administrative staff organized by IQAC on 30th June 2022.
• Dr.Kanchana was invited as resource person and delivered key note address in International Nutrition Webinar 2k22 organised by St. Josephs College for Women Visakhapatnam on 1St sep,2022.

• Ms. Malathi Varma presented a paper topic titled “Exploring diagnostic biomarkers for IRIDA” in a 2-day international conference- Trends in Biological Sciences: Impetus on Health organized by SRM University, Chennai on 12th, 13th October 2023. “Exploring diagnostic biomarkers for IRIDA”
• Dr. Sony presented a paper titled “Isolation, synthesis & characterization of Rennet” in a 2 day International conference- Trends in Biological Sciences: Impetus on Health organized by SRM University, Chennai on 12th, 13th October 2023.
• Ms.Malathi Varma attended and gave oral presentation on “Biomarkers missing in Diagnosis of Anaemia” at the International conference on Advances in genetic diagnosis in the era of OMICS, held at Institute of Genetics & Hospital for genetic diseases, Osmania University from 17th-18th June 2022.
• Dr.S. Kanchana participated and presented a paper entitled “Invitro antioxidant activity and Electro Analytic Approach on Indigofera tirunelvelica Sanjappa in the 2nd International conference on Multifunctional Materials held during Dec 22-24,2022 at Geethanjali College of Engineering and Technology, Keesara, Telangana.
Skill development programmes attended by staff:

• Dr. Kanchana attended 6-day short term programme on “Design, Development and Delivery of MOOCs” held from Aug 21st-26th 2023 organised by Indira Gandhi National Open University, Staff training and Research Institute of distance Education
• Ms. Malathi Varma attended a 2- week DBT sponsored Skill Vignan Faculty Training Programme on Basics techniques in Genetics & Molecular Biology conducted at CCMB, Habsiguda, Hyderabad dated 30th January – 11th February 2023.
• Dr.G.Sony attended Online Refresher Course in Life Sciences organised by UGC HRDC Osmania University from 15-11-22 to 28-11-22.
• Dr.S.Kathiravan attended 108th Indian Science Congress held at Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur from Jan 03-07, 2023 and presented a paper in the New Biology section.
• Ms.Kanchana attended 14 days refresher course conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad sponsored by UGC on "Drug Discovery, Drug Development and Analytical Interpretation of Data in Pharmaceutical Research" held from 12/07/2021 to 26/07/2021 and successfully completed with A+ Grade.
• Dr.G.Sony attended International conference on Chemical,Bio and environmental engineering conducted by NIT,Jalandhar on August 20-22,2021,and also presented a paper on “A Comparative study on the antioxidant activity and quantitative analysis of secondary metabolites in Pterocarpus santalinus leaf.
• Ms. Malathi Varma completed a global revolution certificate program by International Centre for culture & education to educate, inspire & act against Climate change on 15th September 2021.
