Overview of the Course

History/Literature/Political Science (HLP)

History Image

HLP is an interdisciplinary undergraduate programme designed to foster critical thinking, cultural awareness, and analytical skills. This course integrates the study of the past, the richness of literary traditions, and the dynamics of political thought, enabling students to explore the connections between historical events, cultural texts, and governance structures.

Literature Image

Students gain a strong foundation in world and Indian history, political ideologies, and international relations, alongside exposure to diverse literary genres, critical theories, and interpretive methods. Courses in political philosophy, comparative politics, and gender studies further deepen their understanding of power, society, and cultural identities.

Politics Image

The curriculum emphasizes interdisciplinary learning, combining classroom lectures with seminars, workshops, field visits, and research projects. By analyzing literature as a reflection of historical contexts and political realities, students develop interpretive and evaluative skills essential for both academic and professional growth.

Research Image

The programme also hones writing, communication, and research skills, preparing students to engage with contemporary debates in culture, history, and politics.
The HLP programme empowers women to critically engage with society and contribute meaningfully to academia and industry.
