Eureka – The Innovation Hub at St. Francis College for Women

Introduction: Eureka, the Innovation Hub at St. Francis College for Women, serves as a platform that unites students from various academic streams with a shared interest in entrepreneurship. Whether it’s a startup idea, a small business venture, or a desire to explore entrepreneurship, Eureka is designed to support and empower students in their entrepreneurial journeys.

Mission and Vision

Founded with the mission to enable and nurture the entrepreneurial aspirations of young women at St. Francis College, Eureka aims to create market disruptors. The club fosters an environment where innovation meets action, providing students with the resources and guidance needed to turn ideas into reality.

Objectives

Fostering Innovation: To establish and strengthen an innovation culture at St. Francis College through workshops and networking opportunities with successful entrepreneurs.
Mentorship and Networking: To coordinate with industry experts for mentorship and guidance, providing valuable support to student innovators.
Platform for Student Innovators: To offer a platform for student innovators to showcase and promote their products.
Continued Support: To provide ongoing support to student innovators even after graduation, ensuring they have the resources needed to succeed.

Skill Development

Various activities held at EUREKA such as insightful guest lectures, dynamic competitions, and interactive workshops develop strategic thinking, creativity, business resilience, strategic decision-making, and innovation-driven leadership. The activities provide networking and collaboration opportunities to bring ideas into reality. Student entrepreneurs with innovative ideas are encouraged to take the benefit of the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Telangana and are motivated to shape their ideas into real-world businesses.

Best Practice

EUREKA has established a community of student business entrepreneurs – The SFCpreneurs. EUREKA sources gift items for the resource persons from these SFCpreneurs having small businesses. They are invited to sponsor their products as gifts for guest speakers, and EUREKA also purchases items from them for bigger events. This practice helps publicize and support student entrepreneurs, providing them exposure and profit opportunities.

MoU

St. Francis College signed an MoU with WE HUB, Govt. of Telangana in December 2024 for the WE Enable program. This experiential learning program offers students opportunities for domain-specific certifications, live projects, internships, and exposure to startup hubs. EUREKA has been instrumental in onboarding the students for this initiative.

SFCpreneurs Meet: A networking event bringing together students from various streams to exchange business ideas and experiences.
Workshop on Business Model Canvas: An interactive session to help students understand entrepreneurship foundations.
Eureka Showcase: Product stalls by student entrepreneurs displaying lifestyle, fashion, home décor, and snacks, showcasing their creativity and achieving breakeven profits.
Eureka Talks: A guest lecture series featuring entrepreneurs sharing insights and success stories.
Eureka Innovation Accelerator: A two-day experiential learning workshop on problem-solving, teamwork, and business pitch creation.
Imprenditore 2025: The flagship event featuring “Shark Tank” and “Market Wiz” competitions highlighting innovation and leadership.
