The Primary Aim of IQAC (NAAC)

  • To develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic action to improve the academic and administrative performance of the institution.
  • To promote measures for institutional functioning towards quality enhancement through internalization of quality culture and institutionalization of best practices.

Objectives

  1. Promoting Quality Education: Ensure that college consistently maintains high standards in teaching, learning and academic performance.
  2. Enhancing Academic and Administrative Processes: Review and improve academic programs, syllabi, and curricula to ensure relevance and alignment with industry standards. Strengthen administrative processes to make them more efficient and transparent.
  3. Accreditation and Compliance: Guide the institution through accreditation processes by ensuring all standards required for institutional accreditation are met.
  4. Fostering a Culture of Continuous Improvement: Develop and implement mechanisms for continuous feedback from students, faculty, and stakeholders to identify areas for improvement.
  5. Student-Centric Initiatives: Ensure the implementation of student support systems such as mentorship programs, counselling services, career guidance, and extracurricular activities. Monitor student satisfaction and progress through surveys, feedback mechanisms, and academic reviews.
  6. Promoting Research and Innovation: Encourage faculty and students to engage in research and innovation, with an emphasis on inter-disciplinary and socially relevant projects.
  7. Enhancing Faculty Development: Organize faculty development programs, workshops, and training sessions to improve teaching methodologies, use of technology in education, and subject expertise.
  8. Institutional Networking and Partnerships: Strengthen collaboration and build partnerships with other educational institutions, industries, and research organizations for mutual growth.
  9. Enhancing Institutional Visibility: Strengthen the reputation of the institution by showcasing its academic achievements, research outcomes, and extracurricular activities.
  10. Sustainability and Social Responsibility: Promote initiatives that focus on environmental sustainability, social responsibility, and community engagement.

The objectives align with the goals of creating a robust, transparent, and innovative academic environment that fosters holistic student development and institutional excellence.

Functions

  • The IQAC holds regular meetings to review, discuss, and plan initiatives for continuous improvement of academic and administrative quality.
  • External advisory members are consulted at least once every semester for expert advice and guidance.
  • The Academic and Administrative Audit Cell (AAAC) has been established to carry out essential checks which help IQAC in formulating strategies for quality assurance and improvement.
  • IQAC ensures that academic policies and procedures comply with institutional standards, regulatory bodies, and accreditation requirements.
  • Internal evaluation includes the assessment of teaching and non-teaching staff by department heads and feedback from their members, including self-appraisals and student evaluations.
  • IQAC conducts annual evaluations through Student Quality Circles (SQCs).
  • IQAC and departments engage in semester-wise review of examination results to identify areas for improvement and enhance student performance.
  • Student Quality Circles allow students to actively participate in decision-making and share their perspectives on academic and institutional matters.
