American Corner Hyderabad

American Corner Hyderabad

Overview

American Spaces are Department of State-supported and Public Diplomacy-managed public programming spaces overseas. They are part of a U.S. Mission's public diplomacy efforts to engage host country audiences. American Corner Hyderabad was established in 2013 under a cooperative agreement between the United States Consulate General Hyderabad and St. Francis College for Women. It is governed by a memorandum of understanding signed between the Public Diplomacy Section and the management of the college.

The Corner is a youth-oriented space that acts as a first stop for gaining a better understanding of American culture. The American Corner organises more than 150 programs every year addressing themes that include STEM education, entrepreneurship, innovation, and English language.

The Corner helps students and teachers engage meaningfully with their peers in the United States, the Philippines, Malaysia, and Sri Lanka through regional virtual engagements. Our audience also interacts regularly with American experts and diplomats to discuss American culture and shared interests that make India and the United States safer, more secure, and more prosperous.

You can access about 600,000 articles via the Corner's digital database.
