The Study Abroad Program, conducted under the MoU between Case Western Reserve University (CWRU), USA, and Department of Microbiology St. Francis College for Women, Hyderabad, was designed to promote scientific inquiry, research skills, and global academic collaboration through cultural immersion. 9 students and 2 faculty from CWRU participated in the Study Abroad Program at St.Francis College for Women. The program commenced on December 29, 2024, with the arrival of students in Hyderabad, followed by an orientation, laboratory tours, and project assignments guided by the Microbiology faculty. Alongside their research work, students experienced India’s rich culture through city tours, visits to Charminar, Chowmahalla Palace, and the Nampally Exhibition, and explored research institutions such as NIPER, L.V. Prasad Eye Institute, and T-Hub. They also visited the Unani Medicinal Research Centre to understand traditional medicine. The program concluded on January 10, 2025, with the International Conference on Sustainable Nanobiotechnology – An Ecofriendly Approach, jointly organized by St. Francis College and CWRU, where students presented their research findings. Overall, the program provided an enriching blend of academic engagement, research exposure, and cultural exchange. St. Francis College for Women, Hyderabad, in collaboration with Case Western Reserve University (CWRU), USA, successfully conducted a 10-day Exchange Program from May 6 to 15, 2025 at CWRU. This initiative, born out of the MoU between the two institutions, aimed to foster academic collaboration, global exposure, and interdisciplinary learning. Five faculty members and seven students participated in lectures, research sessions, and field visits that covered diverse topics such as oral microbiota, proteomics, metagenomics, and food safety. Participants also visited research and industrial sites, including the CWRU School of Medicine, FT Stone Laboratory, Akron Water Reclamation Facility, Daisy Dairy, and Rubber City Reuse. The program provided valuable insights into global research practices, innovation, and sustainability, strengthening international academic ties between the two institutions.
