Established on June 15, 1996, the Department of Biochemistry has been at the forefront of life sciences education, evolving continuously to meet the dynamic advancements in the field. The department offers a robust academic program enriched with practical experiences, including internships, hands-on training sessions, research projects of real-world relevance, and educational visits to research institutes and industrial laboratories. These initiatives are designed to ignite curiosity, foster innovation, and inspire students to pursue rewarding careers in Biochemistry and allied sciences. Currently, the Department offers Biochemistry in combination with Biotechnology, Computer Applications and Microbiology

Through these multidisciplinary combinations, the department aims to prepare students for the diverse and expanding opportunities at the intersection of life sciences, technology, and industry.

Modern and Practical Methods for Skill Evaluation

Students were instructed to compile their notes and generate QR codes that linked directly to their digital content. The initiative successfully integrated QR codes to create and share study materials, encouraging students to explore digital note-making tools like QR Code Generator and ME-QR. It promoted efficient, accessible information sharing and was evaluated based on content accuracy, comprehensiveness, and presentation. The activity also sparked student interest in using various digital formats—such as images and embedded links—supporting personalized and sustainable learning.

Towards a Health-Conscious Community

Prioritizing good health is a key aspect of the education system. In recent times, the prevalence of certain diseases has increased significantly, highlighting the need for greater awareness and regular health monitoring. To address this, the department consistently organizes health camps and guest lectures on various health-related topics for both staff and students.
