Established in 1962, the Department of Zoology is a hub of academic excellence and scientific exploration. The highly qualified and experienced faculty are dedicated to fostering knowledge, skill development, and innovation. The teaching methodology integrates fundamental and applied Zoology, enhanced with demonstrations, models, videos, and hands-on experiments in our state-of-the-art wet laboratory. Leveraging modern advancements, The Department offers Darwin Virtual Laboratory, allowing students to access e-resources and virtual dissections via Digi Frog software. The museum boasts of an array of specimen collection—from protozoa to mammals, including human skeletons and animal bones, supporting osteological studies. To enhance learning beyond textbooks, the department collaborates with NGOs, research institutes, and academic organizations.Regular conduct of seminars, workshops, guest lectures, field visits, and outreach programs, provide students with hands-on scientific engagement and real-world exposure.Through commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and environmental conservation, the Department of Zoology continues to inspire curiosity and expand the frontiers of biological science.
