NCC

Overview

The NCC - a Tri-service corps integrating the Army, Navy, and Air Force, nurtures young citizens with a spirit of unconditional service and integrity, as 'leaders of tomorrow'. Through structured training, the cadets evolve into principled, disciplined, and patriotic individuals-imbued with a strong sense of camaraderie and civic responsibility, equipped with the essential skills and attributes to qualify for commissions in the Armed Forces."

St. Francis College for Women offers its students the opportunity to join the NCC on a voluntary basis, where they embrace its core values pertaining to character, comradeship, discipline, leadership, selfless service, and unity and actively contribute to fostering discipline and national integration among their peers.

Our cadets have been winning laurels consistently, including representation of our state at prestigious national events and Republic day Parade in Delhi.

The NCC unit of the college strives relentlessly to provide an ambience that develops and strengthens the physical and emotional health of its cadets. The students are provided opportunities to participate in various events at state and National level, apart from being part of interactive sessions with eminent persons from diverse fields.

Quick Facts

Total Strength
The total strength of the N.C.C. squad in our college, comprising three wings – Army, Navy and Air Force - is 60.
Minimum Hours
Students who opt for N.C.C. must put in a minimum of 60 hours of work to be eligible for the award of their degree. Such participation is awarded with one credit at the end of the undergraduate programme.
Activities & Camps
To develop the spirit of adventure among the cadets, various adventure activities such as trekking, para-sailing and mountaineering are offered. International youth exchange programmes, as well as national and local camps are conducted. Every year, individual cadets have won laurels for themselves and the college. Some of our cadets and staff have represented our state at the Republic Day Parade in Delhi, and have also won many awards. In addition, they participated in the Integration Camp at Port Blair.

Social Events

To encourage cadets' national integration, social awareness, and community service, the National Cadet Corps (NCC) hosts a number of social camps and activities. Blood donation camps, tree planting drives, cleanliness efforts (Swachh Bharat Abhiyan), awareness rallies, and trips to rural communities, elderly homes, and orphanages are some examples of these activities.

NCC cadets acquire the virtues of self-control, leadership, cooperation, and social responsibility via these programs. These initiatives foster empathy and a sense of national service while assisting students in making constructive contributions to society.
